The Harvey Norman Commercial Division have opened a state-of-the-art Selection Centre designed exclusively for commercial builders, Architects and Developers. The 1,500m2 space offers a walkthrough showcase of the best brands and the best ranges with more than 1,800 products on display. The centre’s design concept focusses on high-end experience from fit-out to creative spaces utilised for product launches for industry and brand presentations.
Within the selection centre, interactive areas have been created where clients can see, touch and compare. Zones have been created to replicate local elements to showcase the products including the feeling of home with an operating kitchen as well as an outdoor alfresco area.
LPA were engaged by StStyle and Harvey Norman Commercial to provide a lighting design that not only presented their display suites in a residential setting, but also to address the alfresco area in a way that best simulated the movement of daylight, thereby creating an outdoor experience inside. The indoor moon comprises of 3,200 circadian LED lights. Using a combination of colour representations in conjunction with the nominated control system, Environexus, we were able to simulate the natural progression of sunrise to sunset.
For the main circulation zones throughout the space, the lighting was to be presented in a way reminiscent of an art gallery, allowing for safe movement while not competing with the products on display.
Multiple zones needed different lighting design to replicate the setting and the architectural style or tone of the area. Our Brick R350 adjustable wall washer was used in the display areas offering adjustability depending on the display section. The June II adjustable track was used in the foyer to illuminate the signage before you enter the walkway. The LPA Moon was used as a feature on the wall of the reception area and the Mila surface mount alongside the walls and above the reception desk. All fittings used are dimmable via an iPad on the wall allowing the ability to dim different sections to accommodate the needs of the user.
