LPA Lighting was proud to collaborate with Southern Cross Shopfitting to deliver an innovative and purpose-driven lighting solution for Upstate Studio, Richmond. Designed to support a diverse range of wellness activities—including reformer Pilates, boxing, and yoga—this project showcases our expertise in creating adaptable lighting environments tailored to the health and fitness sector.

A Vision for Wellness and Performance

Upstate Studio is more than just a fitness space—it is a sanctuary for movement, mindfulness, and community connection. The design of the studio reflects the holistic approach to well-being, seamlessly blending functionality with aesthetics to create an inspiring and immersive environment.

Precision Lighting for Health and Wellness

Recognising the specific lighting needs of health and fitness centres, LPA Lighting developed a custom solution to enhance both performance and relaxation. Using advanced LED technology, our lighting design balances brightness and ambience, creating optimal conditions for a variety of workout styles.

For high-energy boxing sessions, we incorporated dynamic lighting that enhances focus and intensity, while the reformer Pilates and yoga spaces feature softer, more diffused lighting to promote relaxation and mindfulness. Smart controls allow for effortless transitions between lighting modes, ensuring a seamless experience for clients and instructors alike.

Enhancing the Studio Experience

A key element of the Upstate Studio lighting design was the integration of indirect and accent lighting to emphasise spatial depth and movement. Thoughtfully placed fixtures highlight architectural details, while warm colour temperatures enhance comfort and tranquility.

By creating a harmonious balance between function and atmosphere, our lighting design supports Upstate Studio’s mission to offer an uplifting and inclusive wellness experience.
