The Bays Hospital

The Bays Hospital is a not-for-profit and community-owned healthcare organisation offering quality acute hospital and residential aged care services to the residents of the Mornington Peninsula. In 2019, their new Critical Care service section was completed. This incorporates intensive care (ICU), coronary care and high-dependency services. The hospital space also included six new state-of-the-art patient bedrooms and a nurse station.

LPA was thrilled with the opportunity to collaborate with Wood and Grieve Engineers to enhance the lighting over the main reception desk. We worked with our distribution partner Lightnet, reviewing the lux plots and customising a solution that allowed a very small ceiling space between the fitting and the skylight. The flexibility of Lightnet’s recessed Liquid Line achieved a homogeneous and seamless line of light in a complex area.

The result is a striking feature offering perfect uniform illumination for a functional task area.
