Cotton On The Beckley

Cotton On Group is one of Australia’s largest retailers with its global headquarters located in Geelong. A design collaboration between Greg Natale and PTID created a workplace environment that cultivated innovation and teamwork for the group.

Together with PTID, LPA supplied luminaires based on their lighting design and vision that incorporated influences from luxury hotels and Geelong’s regional industrial history. We were involved in creating several bespoke fittings for this project including the hairline Celine chandeliers, Hailey wall lights and Artist ceiling lights. Brass tones were selected for all the lights to enhance the aesthetic of the dark timber and reflect the heritage look of the building.

As the building had a large floor plan, the designers created defined zones to distinguish between the different areas. The high ceilings at the entrance accentuated the decorative chandeliers creating a dramatic first impression.

In the adjacent restaurant and dining area, Artist surface-mounted ceiling lights were custom-made with a hand-rubbed antique finish to compliment the New York brasserie style of the space. The concept was to create a lobby and dining space as a flexible workplace and encourage the staff to interact and feel relaxed in their environment.

The office also includes a Retail Innovation Centre. This was designed for their team to develop better ways to innovate and understand their clients in the retail market. We kept the product selection simple and consistent to flow with the rest of the extended Cotton On office and retail store design.

Cotton On Group’s global headquarters is a reflection of its people-focused environment and is well suited to lead the business into the next phase of its development.
