Solisium

Forging a sustainable future through innovation, Solisium design products with a focus on the world’s transition to a renewable future. LPA had the privileged to complete a lighting and energy solution for Australia’s first Eco Smart Off-Grid Kitchen.

Involved from the onset, LPA provided support from the pre-design of the structure until final installation. Our design and sales team were able to adapt and revise the design accordingly to meet the client’s requirements. We created a 3D model from a 2D image provided by the client to show a realistic representation of how the structure would look.

Using integrated smart technology and cloud-based monitoring, this kitchen achieves full independence without any need to connect to the grid.  LPA worked with Solisium to deliver a standalone solar and energy storage solution including a rooftop solar photovoltaic system as well as a battery for additional storage, this draws all the power requirements to keep the kitchen operating. This standalone solar and energy storage solution allows a 10 – 12hrs of operation per day.

Any additional energy requirements are supplemented by a biodiesel generator, using a BD100 fuel that is created from waste vegetable oils which doesn’t increase CO2 or greenhouse emissions.

The kitchen collects rainwater from the roof through an internal downpipe to a pure rain filtration system and is repurposed for water fit for consumption as well as being used for a chemical-free cleaning system.

With extendable hydraulic legs and wheels, the kitchen can be moved and operated to set up in any location. Solisium’s partner atiyah Food Culture has relocated the first kitchen to Federation Square where it has launched as a Lebanese kiosk, Australia’s first 100% renewable-run streetfood zero-carbon kitchen.

The lighting solution was developed to highlight some of the key design features of the pod including linear extrusions with IP65 rated LED strip on the corners and wood grain features. Internally black surface mount cans (our Logan series) compliment the aluminium sash windows and tapware and provide appropriate lighting for a working environment.

LPA is proud to support the Solisium Group and atiyah Food Culture as they strive to redefine how design, business and community can come together to create a sustainable future for us all.
