Lacoste – Broadway NYC

In April, Lacoste reopened its flagship store located on Broadway in New York City’s SoHo neighbourhood. The Paris-based sportswear brand provides an updated store concept that draws on inspiration from their heritage whilst appealing to today’s customers. It showcases Lacoste’s creativity and innovation, a step that aligns with LPA’s brand strategy.

Using a range of track lights, pendants, linear lights and LED strip lighting, we delivered a modern lighting solution reflecting Lacoste’s global store design. The intention of the store redesign was centred around customer experience, forming shared partnerships with their local community and providing creative collaborations through their product offerings. The fittings were selected in 3500K with a high colour rendering index providing an ideal outcome for the retail space.

For the general lighting in the store, we nominated the Carl track light suspended on three circuit track system. The track systems had LED strips placed above them to create an ambient up lighting for the space.

Flexible curved Neon Flex LED strips were used on Lacoste’s signature polo wall. These feature walls were divided into three categories of dressy, street and weekend wear.

The Logan was suspended above the cylinder shaped fittings rooms that are reminiscent of freshly opened tennis balls canisters. Combined with the LED strip lighting around the mirrors, a pleasing lighting outcome was created to reduces the amount of unflattering light on customers whilst trying on clothes.

The reinvented historic façade merged with the modern lighting and open store concept provides a contemporary street feel for this flagship store design.
