La Trobe University – Bendigo Campus

La Trobe University’s Engineering Building is a contemporary four-story facility with one level dedicated to the Bendigo Tech School. The building features cutting edge technology and innovative Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) programs for secondary students to collaboratively work together.

At LPA, we support education facilities that have their student and staff’s best interest at heart. By partnering itself with industry leaders, Bendigo Tech School aims to ensure students are given opportunities to develop their skills in the rapidly growing sectors and transition successfully into a workplace environment.

Working alongside Vincent Chrisp, LPA was pleased to provide an economical lighting solution with high quality fittings. The product selection met the requirements for education lighting and Australian building code compliance. The design was inspired by the nature of the courses taught at the facility and the impressive views of Bendigo.

To fulfil the requirements, we sourced a variety of linear profiles in recessed, surface and suspended formats. The fittings were chosen in 4000K to achieve the best output for education facilities. By using an opal diffuser, we were able to provide a uniformed light distribution in the flexible learning spaces. The linear profiles were installed throughout the entire building for flexibility and to compliment the multi-purpose usage of the space.

LPA was able to provide a contemporary lighting solution that maintains the creative and supportive university environment La Trobe is establishing with the Bendigo community.
