GMHBA Headquarters

60 Moorabool Street marks a signification milestone in Geelong as the new home for GMHBA’s headquarters. The impressive 9 storey building will see the GMHBA workforce united under one state-of-the-art office space. With an increasing demand for greener, healthier offices in the region, the GMHBA headquarters was designed to drive innovation, productivity and promote collaboration. The project achieves a PCA ‘A Grade’ standard, 5 Star Green Star certification and a 5 Star NABERS base building energy rating. These achievements demonstrate LPA and Geelong’s commitment to sustainability for a greener future.

We offered a full Design & Construct economical lighting solution to the specified product proposed. Several of our fittings were selected for its low glare UGR rating to ensure good uniformity and visual comfort for their staff. The products were approved by the contractors and are compliant with AS1680 standards. Our design team worked to provide lighting calculations and lux plots for each level of the building.

Different lighting conditions were required for the various zone in the office. For the office spaces with concentrated screen-based work, we selected the Garret troffer. It was fitted with a customised air return frame on both sides to ensure air was regulated and delivered correctly to the occupied spaces.

In the break-out zones and circulation areas, we opted to go with the Mila series. We accommodated the client with late changes to the fittings and offered them in suspended format for select areas of the building. Its wider beam optic and ambient illumination allows for a more relaxed environment in the informal setting of the larger office.

Together with the teams involved, we were able to create a modern lighting solution for GMHBA that contributes to the growth and transformation of Geelong’s developing community and economy in the region.
