Chisholm Frankston Campus

Chisholm Institute has opened a Learning and Innovation Precinct at their Frankston Campus. The redevelopment was designed to address higher education demands and encourage innovation and growth for their students in the local community.

Working closely with Waterman AHW, the specifiers of the project, LPA produced high-quality luminaires complying with the Australia building code standards. The project was divided into two buildings that were connected by an enclosed footbridge.

A range of premium Lightnet products were selected for this project. We used the Matric linear in suspended, surface and recessed formats in the foyer, flexible working spaces and circulation areas within the campus. The fittings were nominated in 4000K to achieve optimal visual conditions for students and to improve their learning and academic performance.

Working with our partners at Lightnet we produced customised hexagonal aluminium extrusions for the facility. Our team provided in-house cuts to the fittings to meet the client’s requirements and create a stunning visual feature.

In the classrooms, the Indus II panels were chosen for its high efficacy and UGR<19 rating. By using fittings that were low glaring, students and staff are able to have better visual comfort and avoid any issues with reflective glare from screens or windows.

The campus made a significant refurbishment to the existing Trades Training area and transformed it into an Advanced Manufacturing and Trade facility. To accommodate the high ceilings of the centre, we used the Tampo Highbay with a 70 degree PMMA reflector.

Chisholm’s aim is to provide collaborative spaces that encourage new ways of learning, teaching and thinking.  Lighting plays a major role in creating these spaces and we are proud to have been involved with Chisholm’s Frankston campus refurbishment.
